1. After adjusting to the time change, we spent some time on the farm in Kentucky with katie's family. pasha spent the summer went with them there herding horses and wooing macy may.
Katie took advantage of summer's mad hair skilz while we were there and got her hair layered and high-lighted. The results were amazing, and Katie was in tears (of joy) because her hair had never been so straight. There was much rejoicing and giggling amongst the women folk.
while the girls giggled, shopped, and cooked, the men ate, golfed, and played game cube. There were also some canoe adventures, one of which resulted in me swimming through goose dung. I was grateful that I learned the deadman float in boy scouts to avoid submersion in the goose treasures (as pasha calls them).
2. Danes
the first night back in Athens, my Danish friend mike (aka the troll) and two of his friends, Simon and Jens (aka the trolls) met up with us. We had dinner and caught up with major events in our lives. We also remebered the fun we had when he was in high school with me as an exchange student and speculated about the world cup next year. They were good sports as they all slep in one room and put up with pasha. Danes are surprisingly friendly towards dogs for being trolls.
Taylor is back from his mission in zimbabwe and we spent a few nights in Marietta to see him and my family. Taylor is the same, but he eats more food than just pb&j now. He mentioned that working conditions are better in zimbabwe (picture taken after he came home from work). Katie quilted, and the boys played ps1 (are we seeing a pattern here?).
4. Charleston
katie's dad and mom were staying in Charleston for a week, and we went to visit for a few days. It was really hot (not like Athens is any better), but we had a great time. The boys prevailed at bridge, and the girls had to console themselves with shopping. The beach was great, and pahsa had a good time frolicking about.
by the time we settled down in Athens, school was ready to start. summer was long, hot, and wonderful, but routine normal life is good too.
