thanks for a good night: "good night, and good luck"

One of the best movies I have seen in a while is "good night and good luck." I must be completely out of the loop because it was apparently nominated for a couple of Oscars. I remember hearing something about it on NPR, but that was it.

The movie follows the CBS crew of “See it Now” and Edward R. Murrow, a popular news show from the 50’s, during the red scare. I learned about the red scare in school, but I didn’t know the role that TV played in calling McCarthy out. In any case, it was fantastic and very relevant to our time too. They did a great job of presenting the story and conveying a few messages too. Highly recommended.

What agreat movie, with an even better message. It was crazy to think of a time where the media didn't bash everyone and their grandmother, but crazier to see what happens when a country lives in fear of its government, or in ignorance of it doings... oh wait...
