plans for summer (season, not sister-in-law)

ah, a boardwalk along the Mediterranean. lucky for us, this is where katie and i will be spending the first part of our summer. today we finalized plans for what we hope will be a great summer. from mid-may until july, we will be in Genova, Italy, one of the oldest ports in Italy. It is the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and close to the Riviera (not to be confused with the redneck Riviera which is another name for the gulf shores).

we have a contact there who is a member of the church, and also happens to work at the same firm where i will work. we also hope to make it down to Sicily so katie can pay homage to her ancestors.

for most of july, we will be in Brussels, Belgium. UGA has a seminar there on EU law. katie plans to polish up on her Flemish while she is there. as for me, i am planning on a filibuster at the EU parliament.
