if you ever wanted to personally know a true renaissance man, here he is. Music, sports, invetro-fertilization come as natural as the dimple. catch phrases such as "dang me!!" and "archiebunkerism" can be attributed to him. he is tom little: dad, boss, fisherman. i like this picture because it captures tom smiling over a smaller sized fish.
most people would be ashamed to be caught an camera with such a frail fish, but tom realizes there is something more important than getting the biggest fish. for him, true joy comes in being on the lake, hooking the worm, and relaxing; the actual process. That's one of the many lessons he taught me as we braved the elements and wrestled with horses for six months. as we went about our duties, he would take time out to teach me a bird call or pontificate about why the horses knee is called a pastern. hopefully, we can all learn enjoy life and not just celebrate when we catch a big fish. otherwise, we spend too much time waiting for something extraordinary. thanks doc for your example.
