summer surprise

katie and i spent countless hours on the internet looking for study abroad programs, internships, and volunteer opportunities to enjoy our last summmer before real life begins. there were lots of ideas and websites, but most required lots of money on our part (the most amusing being internship programs where you pay them $2000 to work for the summer).

i spent monday sending numerous emails and resumes to law firms in Italy. I got my first offer today to work for a firm in Milan!!! i am amazed at how google can find anything and at how blessed we are. instead of relying on other people to find me an internship, i did it on my own (with help from katie and others), and we are so excited.

other offers may come, but this one looks great because the firm specializes in international law, and even has some ties to Russia [link]. some of you may be thinking that "how will he survive in Italy without knowing the language?" well, the firm wants me to study Italian while i am there, but good thing i have my own very cute personal tutor [link] . this same cute tutor was affraid of radiation in Russia, hence we are going to her native land. we hope this will be a great experience for us to learn about EU law, visit geneaological sites, and eat gelato.
